Is the Conservative brand only toxic in Scotland?

The strongest candidate for leader of the Scottish Conservatives has made disbanding the party his priority if he wins the election next month to lead the Conservatives in Scotland. Has the Conservative brand become so toxic that it has to be ditched? If his proposals come to fruition, will this be the next step here in England as the Conservatives struggle to get any meaningful power? The crack that shows in the fabric of the Scots party may be indicative of the paradigm shift that will take place elsewhere over the coming decade..

The next election will be the litmus test. If the Conservatives don’t win the next election their supporters here may well fragment and regroup in parties with quite separate agendas.
